Notice : VISA Issuance for foreign children who attends school in South Korea

Korean immigration office has notified that it temporarily issues VISA(D4 or G1) for children who stay in South Korea for a long timeThe deadline for the application for the VISA is March 31st, 2022.

Also, a parent of the children who are eligible to have the VISA above is also eligible to have G1 VISA until the child graduates from high school and becomes major. A parent who is staying illegally should pay the fine to the immigration office. The amount is much lower that he or she is supposed to pay. The fine may be exempted if a parent cannot afford to pay the fine.

 

The requirement is described below.

 

1. (1) A child was born in South Korea or entered South Korea before 6, (2) A child has been in South Korea for at least 6 years, (3) A child is attending elementary, middle or high school or graduate from high school.

2. (1) A child entered South Korea after 6, (2) A child has been in South Korea for at least 7 years, (3) A child is attending elementary, middle or high school or graduate from high school.

 

 

The lawyer fee for helping a foreigner to have the VISA issued is 770,000 Korean won.(expenses are excluded)
